I've been Sonora, Mexico since I was a kid. The idea of moving there was always in the back of my mind, but it didn't really click until winter 2021.
While on vacation in an Arizona cabin, Hermosillo suddenly popped into my head. I only remembered it as a big city from a trip to San Carlos when I was younger, but that was about it.
Curiosity got the best of me, and I started digging into what Hermosillo was all about. The small-town vibes of places like Puerto Penasco and San Carlos were cool for vacations, but I needed more for everyday life.
Turns out, Hermosillo had it all—a bustling city feel, not too touristy, a familiar hot climate, and plenty of chances to brush up on my Spanish. So, I sold my house and by December 7th, 2021, I was driving down to my new home in Hermosillo.
Fast forward two years—I'm married, bilingual, and somehow I ended up a TikToker. Now I spend my days creating content about Sonora, showing off why I love Sonora.
